Problems and Perseverance

Unfortunately, my recording equipment and software have seemed to stop working properly for the time being. I do not have them out here in BC, but when I was trying to work on music at home over Christmas, I was obstructed by technical problems to do the work that I had hoped to accomplish. This being said, I am hoping that they will work eventually. I miss working on music. Anyway, I made the last minute decision of changing the album artwork for The Dmitri Chronicles:

Christmas Break 2012

Christmas break has just started today, and I'm hoping to work on some music over the break. I will post some screenshots or something if I get anything done. I will put a lot of time into these EPs :)

The Dmitri Chronicles

Here is the artwork for The Dmitri Chronicles. I have been thinking about making this project for 3 years now (thanks to a friend, who gave me the idea). This project will happen, and though I rarely make promises, I promise that this project will be created and finished at some point (2013 - 2014, I'm hoping). This EP will be an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) oriented project, and Home ... well, I'm not so sure what is going to happen with that one. Anyway, both you and me will have to wait and see what happens :)

The End?

Both my music page on Facebook and my Soundcloud page have given up the ghost. However, I made this blog the main page for anything having to do with Dalama Jones.

Some updates:

1. No progress in music has been made for quite awhile now (since I currently don't have access to Pro Tools, my keyboard, my drum machine, etc)
   
2. I have made plans for two EPs, hopefully to be finished somewhere between 2013 - 2014
   
3. The titles of the projects are: Home and The Dmitri Chronicles
   Now I will share some artwork with you :)

The picture shown above was going to be the album cover for Home. However, after some consideration I have decided that I am not going to use it. Now ... background story: this is a painting that I did not make with my own two hands. It is painted on one of the walls at the church that I am a part of this year, while I am away at Bible school. While I do admire this painting, it didn't feel right for me to use it as an album cover. I don't think it really matches the sound of the music that I make, and in addition to that, I did not get the permission to use it for this artistic purpose.

This is what I will be using for the cover of the EP. It is a drawing that I drew in my notebook, scanned to my computer, and edited with Photofiltre. I am very happy with it, and I think that it fits my experimental and odd sound quite well. I'm looking forward to making the music for this project. I want for my music to be worshipful to God somehow. 

I haven't finished artwork for The Dmitri Chronicles yet ... but I think that I am close to done. I'll post it once I finish. Thanks for reading :)
